It connects to the machines the person adds, over SSH or to their KVM, straight from the phone. - Sync between a person's phones is optional, part of Pro and end-to-end encrypted: it is off until turned on, needs an account (an address and a code, or Google in the Play build), and the server stores only sealed data it cannot read. The passphrase and recovery code never leave the phones. - An optional relay, consolet relay, runs on an always-on Linux machine at the person's home. Paired with the phone, it watches that home's machines, sends the wake packets from inside the home and reboots or shuts machines down when asked. The phone reaches it on the home network, over the person's own VPN or, signed in with Pro, through our server, always through an end-to-end encrypted channel of its own that our server passes and cannot read. Unless started with --no-backend, the relay links to our server while a pairing is open or a paired phone has told it the number of its account. - The one service of ours the app reaches is consolet-app.gpm.name, for sign-in, the licence check, sync, the report and messages screens and, with Pro, the way to a relay. Machines, hosts, keys and sessions reach it only sealed, by sync or in a relay's channel, in a form it cannot read. The account can be deleted in the app. ## Pages - [consolet](https://consolet.gpm.name/): consolet is an Android app for the machines you own: which are on, how busy, wake them, a shell, with optional end-to-end encrypted sync between your phones. It is not released yet. - [Changelog](https://consolet.gpm.name/changelog/): consolet has no releases yet. - [Privacy Policy](https://consolet.gpm.name/privacy/): What consolet does with data: your machines, hosts, keys and sessions stay on your phone, or go to your own machines and to a relay you run at home (which can be reached through our server, sealed so that it cannot read it, and which can fetch signed updates of itself from our website), unless you turn on end-to-end encrypted sync (Pro), in which case our server keeps only sealed data it cannot read; an address is kept if you sign in; the Google Play build sends crash reports and usage statistics to Firebase unless you turn them off. - [Terms of Service](https://consolet.gpm.name/terms/): The terms of use of consolet, which is not released yet. ## Frequently asked questions ### What is consolet? An Android app that puts every machine you own on one screen: whether it is on and how busy it is, with a way to wake it and to open a shell on it. Source: https://consolet.gpm.name/ ### Where can I get it? Nowhere yet: the app is not released. This page will say so until it is. Source: https://consolet.gpm.name/ ### Does it need an account? No. You need no account to use it. An account (an address and a code, or Google in the Play build) is needed only for sync between your phones, which is part of Pro, and to read the answers to your reports. Without sync your machines, hosts, keys and sessions never reach us: they stay on the phone, or go to your own machines and to a relay you run at home (a KVM's login only sealed for it, and only if you agree), and if that relay is reached through our server, with Pro, they pass it sealed, in a channel it cannot read; with sync they are sealed on the phone before they are sent. You can delete the account in the app or from the [delete account page](https://consolet.gpm.name/delete-account/). Source: https://consolet.gpm.name/ ### What is sync? An optional Pro feature that keeps your machines, their host keys and your vault of keys and passwords the same on every phone you add. It is end-to-end encrypted: you choose a passphrase and get a recovery code, both stay on your phones, and our server stores only data it cannot read.
